September 2, 2016 - Chet Williams Signature Course

 Chet Williams Signature Course Update
September 2, 2016

Progress was slowed again this week with the rains, but the construction crews were able to get some very important issues taken care of.  See below:

·         Greens –almost every green that has been planted has been mowed and top dressed and rapid growth is being seen on all of the planted greens.  Putting green is ready for sprigging and #5, #9 and # 18 should hopefully be ready by Friday of next week for sprigging.

·         Fairways – all sodded fairways have been mowed several times now, some two to three times a week as long as we have dry weather.  The more frequently they can be mowed, the better the quality will be, ideally 3 times per week would be best.  Five holes have been rolled with a one ton asphalt roller to help smooth out the fairways.  15-20 loads of sod was laid between #14 and #17.  Cart paths have been laid on all except two holes and some cut through areas that allow for construction traffic to move through.

·         Roughs – Several holes that had been seeded and washed with the rains were repaired this week.

Next Week – Even with all of the recent rains, last week was still productive in many areas. Clean-up on all the holes is ongoing.  Check back next Friday for another golf course update and also check out our website for more pictures and drone videos.
