The Equestrian Club consists of 500 acres of pristine pastures surrounding our Gun Club.
The Equestrian Club, known here at Houston Oaks as the Ranch, is situated on 500 untouched acres. This Club offers an exceptional selection of activities centered on riding and ranch life. The Club is home to many animals including over 100 head of Corriente, a breed of Criollo cattle produced from animals brought to the Americas by the Spanish in the late 15th century, as well as Black Angus, horses, goats, rabbits, cats and our own pair of longhorns.
The Ranch has something for every skill level of rider, whether you’re an accomplished equestrian or a beginnerr. Lessons are available for those wanting to learn the basics of riding and how to handle a horse. Or, sign up to participate in group trail rides for a relaxing experience in the wide-open spaces. Our instructors teach everything from the fundamentals of caring for the animals, techniques for maintaining control, to achieving proper riding balance. For those with more advanced skills seeking to practice their ranching abilities such as roping, reining, cutting, team sorting, and reined cow horse, we have the animals, the space, the facilities, and plenty of opportunities.
If you already own a horse, bring it to the Ranch for a workout where you and your horse can continue to build that special bond of teamwork and skill. Our pros are there to help you in every facet of horsemanship; from providing private lesson packages, assistance in purchasing a horse, or help with maintaining an active and healthy animal. For our Legacy Members, the Ranch offers boarding and one-on-one training; so, for maximum convenience and a seemingly endless catalog of available activities, consider stabling your horse at the Club.
